Though who was who?
The foreign prince stood atop a building looking down at the people below him, because that is what they were, below him. A twisted smirk formed on his lips as he watched them scurry and scuttle along their way like little insects, how insignificant they all were, one day not only his own people but these people would bow to him... He smirked wildly at the thought. It was stuff dreams were made of truly! He would redeem himself, his name, people would once again respect him.
Beaten by a commoner... A lowly peasant... How disgraceful!
Little did he know he owed this trash his life, not once but multiple times... Son Goku had saved the earth a myriad of times, but Joseph hadn't known that... All he had known was that he only brought him shame and anger, a cold rage that swelled within him, one that grew over the years.
His icy blue eye narrowed as he looked to the city, a bit of anger flaring. "to all you people down there,or back in my home country... The ones chastising me, mocking me, those that spit on my name... I will gain your respect, your adoration once more." He held his arms out as he spoke wind picking up causing his long hair to billow lightly. "Or I shall force it from you..." He clenched his gloved fists knuckles popping as he did so.
"That is a promise..."
He looked down his eye watching them as they went about their day... It was foolish to believe that anyone could hear him... Though it still felt like he was being ignored.
"Tch... How foolish..."

Vegeta had pondered plenty of times why he hadn't just blown the planet to pieces now that he was there and ultimately had the chance to. It was then he remembered that his power had been significantly reduced, apparently to the revival of his home planet. It was news that he still wasn't able to fully grasp, and he found himself often lost in thought at the mere prospect of such a feat. He barely remembered anything about the place, only the cold sterile walls of Frieza's base ship and the various planets he was given to conquer. The idea of living on a backwater planet clustered full of beings that were almost too easy to take over had Vegeta's mind reeling, but his frustrations were often put on the back burner with the reminder that he, Kakarot and Kakarot's son were not the only Saiyans in existence anymore. It was chilling, and intriguing as it was simply unbelievable.
He hovered over the city, staring blankly ahead of him. To say he was troubled would have been an understatement. Vegeta had been out and about, engaging in a convoluted mixture of training and daydreaming. It was something he never did, but the news from King Kai had shaken him deeper than he would have liked to admit. When he noticed a human standing on a rooftop, Vegeta snapped his attention down to him and narrowed his eyes, slowly lowering himself down onto the rooftop and listening to him talk. He scowled to his words and folded his arms across his chest.
"You're awfully high up off the ground, human. Do you need a helping push to be reunited with the scum below?"

Joseph's cold dark gaze met Vegeta's brash and unamused look a scowl to match forming on his face. Who was this man? What sort of power did he have? It must have been something noteworthy for there he was floating in the air. He chuckled at his words carefully picking his own.
"I stand above them, as does anyone with power... It is symbolic no? How high we are compared to them... I have thought of them as ants... Little minuscule ants that I can crush beneath my heel. And why? Because I have power..." He looked to Vegeta once more. "It is quite obvious you've got quite a bit of power yourself... Not often does a man see another flying above him!" He said his impressed tone was mostly mocking, condescending even. Though it was to be noted, the only other he knew of that was capable of that was...
Him...
He looked back to Vegeta. "So may I ask who taught you that trick sir? Are you friends with that peasant perchance? Son Goku..." He spat the name with hatred and ice. "If so this proves to be beneficial for me! Meeting you here like this! That would mean this little chat isn't a complete waste of my time and patience..."

Vegeta certainly had it within him to glare at the condescending tone being directed at him. How dare this insolent, primitive half-ape patronize the Prince of all Saiyans? He folded his arms across his chest and listened to him dabble on. How disillusioned it all sounded. Vegeta couldn't stop himself from smirking and chuckling deviously, "Power, you say? If the humans below you are ants, then you must be some filthy rat. And to you, I am the sun." He would show this primitive hog the true meaning of power, but the mention of Kakarot's Earth-given name stopped him from even readying himself for any kind of swift, murderous action.
"Goku..." He scowled and thrust a finger in the human's direction, "Just what the hell do you know about Kakarot? What business do you have with him? Tell me all you know about him!" Perhaps this insect knew of Kakarot's ability to transform into a Super Saiyan. There was a secret to it, not just power. There had to be. If Kakarot had a key, and this man somehow knew it, then Vegeta would be sure to beat it out of him.

Joseph shook his head "Admittedly my power is not as... Refined... As I hope, but even the filthiest of coals can turn into the most radiant of diamonds with the right circumstance..." He held his hand out looking to it as if his fingers were cradling an imaginary diamond. "So do not grow comfortable or lazy my dear sun for you could easily be replaced..." He simply said darkly eyebrow lowering as he watched Vegeta... There was power in his eye, pure manipulative power... There was a reason the Cronosi Clan had their position of power for this many generations and that reason was the fact that they were mighty... He wasn't going to let some floating simpleton talk down to him, he was FAR better than THAT
He listened as he repeated that vile name and he could only laugh at the interrogation. "My my! Seems you have contempt for him as well! Very well I shall reveal my ties with Son Goku or Kakarot... I know him as a simpleton... A peasant from this damn land, A BUM!" He snapped "A bum that disgraced me, that tarnished the Cronosi name, MY NAME that has been built up for generations in ONE FELL SWOOP! It was he that made my country laugh at their 'foolhardy prince.' It was he that made my country lose respect for ME!" He snarled

Vegeta's eyes narrowed then at the notion that he could be easily replaced. His black heart soured even further, at the additional notion that he had been replaced in power, at least momentarily, by the very buffoon the man griped about. He clenched his teeth behind his lips, readying himself to blast the worthless human off the building upon which he perched. However, he was apparently slow to act, as the lesser Prince's words following.
Vegeta was hardly one to take pity on anyone. This man was no exception. The Prince merely watched him with a bored expression, eyes still narrowed and the bridge of his nose scrunched up as if with disgust, a constant for the Saiyan since he arrived on Earth. A mudball at best. This was apparently the best trash it could throw at him: a pompous human that dared to call himself a Prince. He smirked upon hearing that Kakarot had defeated him in some kind of tournament. The orange clad warrior made his blood boil more than any other living person he could think of off-hand, but hearing that this man, claiming to be royalty, had been beaten by him, filled Vegeta with a sense of bitter humor.
"Really now, what do you expect when you face off against a Saiyan?" Vegeta snickered inside. The plan to really ruin this guy's day was about to be set in motion. "And to think the lowlife could really make it as far as he has. It's too bad. And to think that he was nothing but a worm at the time he defeated you. I have no doubt that you'll have a hard time catching up to him, much less defeating him in a rematch." It wasn't like to give Kakarot the credit he deserved, but he would do so simply this one time if only to push this guy's buttons.

Joseph smiled a smile of venom as Vegeta tensed at the notion of being replaced. He couldn't help but be giddy with delight at the thought. How it would bring him so much joy to crush this man's ego beneath his heel. He relished in the fantasy of pure power and he couldn't help but laugh darkly at his own ambitions. He looked to Vegeta obviously having struck a nerve but that's what Joseph wanted, to place the seed of doubt. He smirked darkly.
He listened as Vegeta went on his tirade about how Goku was much stronger and that he had no chance defeating him. It was pure rubbish, Goku could hold all the strength in the known galaxy for all he cared, his passion to see him humiliated and the drive to see him grovel at his feet is what drove him to become stronger and stronger still. Even though it was irksome to know that he was getting stronger as well, Joseph wouldn't give Vegeta the pleasure of recognizing his irritation. The only noticeable sign of this irritation was a slight twitch of his brow above his stoic features. "You misjudge human potential... Saiyan or not, the man will fall to my blade." He said looking to him with his deathly cold eye. "I have only scratched the surface of my true potential rest assured..." He felt a burning beneath the device on his eye as he spoke of his power, it was welling up inside him. He just had to learn to utilize it.
"You seem to hold that one in high regard though... Dare I say you're rooting for him? That you wish for your friends well being? That you care?" He asked snickering "I hadn't realized he was adding more filth to his fan club..." He said smirking darkly at the prince his white cape picking up lightly in the wind as it began to billow.

Vegeta stared down at this man, this... this worm with sheer disgust. How pitifully dull-brained could this half-wit be? He obviously knew nothing of the Saiyans, a proud warrior race that gave birth to the strongest fighters in the universe, himself included! Vegeta only took a moment to reason with himself, bringing a devious smirk to his face at the thoughts that ultimately calmed his anger. This piece of trash was a human. A human! No human could ever hope to outclass a Saiyan in the realm of fighting. This pitiful beast would stand no chance the little half-saiyan brat, much less Kakarot or himself.
"Don't hold your breath, human. Let us get something straight," he said as he lowered down and planted his boots against the roof of the building upon which they stood. He had his arms folded across his chest, and his eyes remained ever narrow, "Kakarot is mine to vanquish. He is my target and no one else's. No warlord, no magician, no monster, no..." he gave Joseph another disgusted look, as if the man was covered in vomit, "....human will ever have their chance at killing him. Because I will have already done it before you could ever hope to catch up."

Dorian walked through the streets happily, smiling at passersby. The dojo had been gaining some reputation, and even though he left the teaching to his younger siblings, he'd become somewhat of a small-time celebrity. The young martial arts master had just finished his last delivery job for the day, when he noticed a small group of people standing around in the city square. He walked over to the group, and saw that they all had their necks craned up, peering at one of the taller corporate buildings in the city.
The young man raised a hand to shade his eyes as he looked up, and saw the source of everyone's curiosity clearly. Dorian sighed, always happened in this city. every once in a while some fighter with enough power to fly would try and scale the tallest building they could. Though two in one place seemed odd.
Taking a deep breath, the kalaripayattu master took a few steps back, then started to spring as fast as he could towards the building. He leapt towards it and kept pumping his legs until he touched glass. Dorian hopped over to the steel support beam between windows, and clopped his way up the sheer vertical surface until he reached the roof. With a second mighty leap, the young man landed in front of the two men.
Dorian took a look at both strangers for a moment, sizing them up. The taller man, he'd never seen in the city before, but the other one. His hairstyle was distinctive, recognizable. Anyone that'd had a television a couple years ago could recognize that hair. But confrontation wasn't his goal at the moment. Obviously the alien wasn't here kill more people, or he would've done it already. So, Dorian smiled.
"Hey there fellas...Now, far be it from me to tell you what to do...but you're starting to attract a crowd." he started out polite, as always, no need to aggravate two men who where seemingly already aggravated.
"Now, these folks have had some scary experience with strangers that can fly like you folks, certain terrifying aliens...and I don't want there to be a panic. Maybe you two could take your conversation elsewhere? Perhaps on the ground, or out of the city?"
There it was. The line in the sand. Dorian had no way of knowing if he could fight either of these men. He was confident in his ability, yes, but one of them was most certainly a proven killer, and the other one, the taller man didn't look like he was a slouch either. But if Dorian had his way, this wouldn't come to fighting anyway.
'Only if' was never reassuring.

Joseph looked up to Vegeta with his cold stoic gaze, his appearance unmoving, he was like a statue without emotion despite the irritation and frustration that boiled within him. His eye merely hinted at a sign of slight disdain. He watched as Vegeta lowered before him and began to criticize him. He dared to talk down to him, like he was trash, like his entire race was trash. This made Joseph frown noticeably his stoic gaze cracking to show his own level of disgust. "You can make all the claims in the world but it was my understanding that a human, a peasant no less was integral in bringing about the downfall of those Saiyans that came down to earth. Surely you had heard about that! Was it a thousand men? An army of our finest weaponry? Nay! It was a rag tag team of humans and a green man. The Saiyan race you speak so highly of was beaten by a bunch of dirty peasants! I HARDLY FIND THAT COMMENDABLE!" He laughed "If it is that easy to take you down then it shall be soon that I do!" He grinned darkly his vivid blue eye narrowing in on Vegeta.
He blinked however as a man jumped up and landed on the building top. He looked to him his face returning to that stoic glare as he spoke to him. He shook his head lightly as he gave his reasons for rudely dropping in on their little... Debate. He'd wave him off as if he were an insignificant fly. "Let them look! If their simple minds panic at a little sign of power then let them panic! They are worthless after all." He looked to Dorian again locking right on his eyes "I'm sure your little leap of faith did absolute WONDERS to their state of mind as well. Really, that was brilliant, I'd give you a medal in tact but surprisingly that seems to be popular now a days." He looks to Vegeta suddenly almost as if Dorian wasn't there. "See? It's people that don't think that give humanity a bad name." He looks back to Dorian. "Now, think before you answer this next one, was that all you had to bother me with or do you wish to keep wasting my time?" He asked his eyes showing only irritation.
